I've posted some photos of snow on Hymmetos, but last night there was real snow in downtown Athens, and we are said to get more today. So, the requisite Athens snow pictures:

The snow is pretty, to be sure, but the more amazing thing for Athens is the silence. The roads are almost completely empty of cars. I'll defer to my wife Susie's description of downtown Athens on a normal day, and post the final photo in contrast
Very pretty. My first-ever glimpse of Athens was a day after a (relatively) major snowfall like this, although by the time I arrived it had moved beyond the "pretty" stage to the "giant piles of grey/brown slush" stage.
